Welcome to "ANewWorkforce.com!"

My name is Dan Oltersdorf and I have been working with, writing for, speaking to, and developing resources for college students for the last 10 years, both within Higher Education and now in corporate America. I currently have over 250 college student staff members in my company and another 25,000 living in properties we manage. During the past decade, I have become increasingly interested in generational trends that impact the workplace as these students leave college and enter the "real world."

The purpose of this blog is to be a hub for information related to managing a multi-generational workforce by compiling the best articles, books, and other resources about how to manage what is truly A New Workforce.

I'll discuss a number of issues such as defining generational labels, trends within generations, and how to effectively manage millennials (Also known as Generation Y, the Echo Boomers, the Nexters among others). I'll also point out resources for working with the mix of generations now in our workplaces.
